Sea Life Sunshine Coast (formally known as the Underwater World) Aquarium is located in Parkyn Parade Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia.

The history of Sea Life dates back to 1989, when the underwater world of Mooloboma opened. Sea Life is a multi-award-winning aquarium and is a treat for people who love aquatic creatures.

Sea Life offers a variety of fun-filled experiences and various activities to kids and adults. Sunshine Coast is home to thousands of sea life animals and marine life creatures.

The Shark Adventure

Shark Dive Xtreme returns to SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast

You can dive with sharks in the shark tank. Wonder what? It is a cageless dive, and no previous experience in diving is required.

You get to meet the grey nurse shark, reef shark, wobbegong shark, giant string rays and more amazing sea creatures, and you can purchase underwater souvenir photos. It will surely be a thrilling experience.

It doesn’t stop here. You also get a certificate of “I dived and survived”. One thing to note is that diving is physically demanding, and if you have any medical conditions, consult with your doctor.

Meet The Penguins

Everybody loves penguins. What if you get a chance to feed them? Excited!! Right?

You can step inside the habitat of little blue penguins, and you can offer them fish and have a talk. Funny? No… You will love watching them swim and play.

You can ask the penguin experts whatever you want to know. You can also have a “picture with penguin “time. One thing to note is that if you are allergic to Seafood, you should think about it.

Take A Walk

Hold hands and walk beneath an 80-meter-long ocean tunnel and explore the depth of the ocean. Visitors can watch a variety of colourful fish swimming along while the sharks, turtles, fish, and rays pass in the shark tunnel.

Touch The Stars

Now, you can touch and feel the marine life in the tidal touch pool with interactive displays. Comfort and shake hands with the beautiful sea stars.

Sea Life Sunshine Coast offers you the opportunity to discover and explore a variety of starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and much more. Get to know about them with the experts there.

Also, explore the jellyfish kingdom and seahorse sanctuary.

Tour Behind the Scenes

Get behind the doors accompanied by one of the marine experts, and you can also get to see the aquarium’s day-to-day activities: how they prepare food, what they cook and how they take care of the animals, how they treat the injured and get them back to health.

Coral Wreck

Learn about the variety of coral species, including the beautiful lionfish, eels, the intelligent common octopus and other tropical fish.

The Shipwreck Shore

The Real shipwreck shore-themed structure keeps your kids busy all day long. It is a three-level indoor play area with twisty slides, climbing frames and a lot of fun and adventure activities. You get to explore the Real shipwreck.

Opening Hours

Opening hours of the sea life Sunshine Coast Aquarium depend on seasons and can be changed during the holidays or any special events and are subject to government guidelines.

They are open five days a week except for Queensland school holidays; they are open seven days a week. The last entry is restricted one hour before the closing of the Sealife Sunshine Coast Aquarium.

NOTE: closed all day on Christmas Day and Anzac Day.

Booking Entry

Book your tickets online in advance since this is an all-season tourist attraction. More discounts and exciting offers are available for annual passes as well. The price ranges between 31$ to 45$ from children to adults.

Sealife offers you to book group tickets and gift vouchers.

If you have an open-dated ticket or gift ticket, you can also book the time slot on the official website. For some activities, participants must be above 13 years of age, and an adult should accompany guests below 18. Proof of age may be required.

Sea Life Sunshine Coast annual pass holders get unlimited access to the aquarium for 12 months. However, pre-booking is essential for pass holders. Also, you can get a great deal on food and beverages and gift shops—complimentary digital photos included for some activities.
